Welcome!
We are excited to bring the sport of lacrosse to Swampscott and Nahant again this year! We will work to improve upon our success from last season, which saw over 275 players spend their spring having fun, improving their skills, demonstrating teamwork and exhibiting their passion for the game.
Because of scheduling constraints we are required to have our final rosters before the end of the year and will be closing this registration on December 31st. All players will be placed on a first come, first served basis until team rosters are full. If you register and there are no longer slots on a roster your child will automatically be placed on a wait list and you will be notified. Anyone who fails to register by December 31st you will be charged a $25 late fee if we are able to place your child on a team.
New Coaches and Assistant Coaches Needed!
We are making a request to all new or current parents (no coaching experience required) with kids that are playing this year. Please consider volunteering to be a coach or assistant coach. We will provide coaching clinics, assistance and whatever else is needed to have a successful season.
League Structure
All youth Divisions are based on the age of the player using January 1st of the coming season as the cutoff. You must register your son or daughter based on their age. Practices start inside at the Swampscott Middle School in early March and the season ends by the second or third week of June.
US Lacrosse Memberships
US Lacrosse memberships are mandatory for all players and coaches. Teams will not be insured or permitted to play unless all players and coaches have registered with US lacrosse. To register or renew your membership with US Lacrosse, go to the website at www.USLacrosse.org
A US Lacrosse youth membership costs $25.
Registration Age Groups and Costs
U15 (Boys/Girls Grades 7 and 8) - $150
U13 (Boys/Girls Grades 5 and 6) - $150
U11 (Boys/Girls Grades 3 and 4) - $150
U9 (Boys/Girls Grades 1 and 2) - $85
Multi-Player Discounts
Buy two and get the rest free! If you plan to sign up more than two children a discount will be applied automatically during registration. You must register all players at the same time to receive the discount! Follow the directins on the registration page.
Financial Aid
SNYL does not want financial capability to be an inhibitor to children being able to participate in the program. We recognize that the cost of registration and that the purchase price of lacrosse equipment is significant. If these costs are a burden then Swampscott Nahant Youth Lacrosse is prepared to provide assistance by way of reduced registration fees. SNYL will offer a set number of Financial Assistance Packages each season for players who have filed applications. Please follow the below instructions if you would like to apply for the upcoming season.

Refunds
Registration fees for the Regular Season (Spring) are refundable less a $30 administration fee if SNYL is notified by email or letter prior to January 1st. One half (50%) of the registration fee is refundable for requests made by email or letter after January 1st and before March 1st of the current regular season. No refunds will be issued for requests made on or after March 1st of the current season. SNYL's refund policy is based upon our obligations for field reservations, equipment purchases and administrative costs such as insurance which are in turn based upon registration numbers. If a player is removed from an SNYL program due to falsified information given during the registration process which affects the player's eligibility, an additional $100 administrative charge will be deducted after the refund is calculated.
Equipment Required
Boys: Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Arm Pads, Gloves, Lacrosse Stick, Mouthpiece, and
athletic cup.
Girls: Lacrosse Stick, Eye Guard, Mouthpiece.
Uniforms
All players are required to purchase SNYL Uniforms.
Physical Contact
Boys Lacrosse is a contact sport. Body checking is allowed at the U-15 level. Girls Lacrosse is a non contact Sport. Injury rates in Girls and Boys lacrosse are equal to soccer.
